McKinsey Report Launch on 13th September

Thank you to everyone who attended the McKinsey & Company report launch and networking reception yesterday, hosted at McKinsey's office in London.

There was a great turnout at the event, where we heard really excellent discussion on the McKinsey Nexus Insurtech report. McKinsey gave an analysis and run-through of the report's important findings, and there was an interesting panel discussion on the current state of the insurtech industry.

The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the current strengths of the insurtech sector in the UK, and focuses on emerging trends, opportunities and challenges for companies operating within our industry, and how insurtechs can reach their full potential. Some of the key takeaways from the report are:

• The UK is a global insurtech leader, with London boasting the same number of Insurtech unicorns as the rest of Europe combined, and second only to Silicon Valley globally.
• Insurtechs contribute almost £5 billion to the UK economy and support 60,000 diverse, young, and highly qualified jobs across all of the UK.
• Of the estimated 3,000 Insurtech firms in the world, approximately 280 are located in the UK—the highest number of Insurtechs per capita among all major world economies
