Insurtech UK hosts webinar on Buildings Insurance
Insurtech UK hosted a webinar on Buildings Insurance on the 16th July 2020.
Three years after the Grenfell tragedy, there are still over 2000 high rise buildings in the UK with unsafe cladding. This session sought to understand the hugely complex problems facing residents trying to get insurance cover for these buildings, and the professionals needing professional indemnity insurance to support the remediation work on these buildings.
The devastating human impact that this is having on residents was difficult to listen to. But it confirmed to everyone present that urgent action is needed to provide a solution for these residents.
We were pleased to welcome the Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP to speak, who joined the resident groups, brokers, insurtechs and experts from the legal, fire safety, compliance and reputational management sectors to identify the key challenges of this issue.
We will be taking forward our findings to identify how we can provide support to address this market failure.
