It was standing room only as we hosted our annual Investment Day as part of UK Insurtech Week, at the London offices of our associate members Aon.
The event returned with a strong focus on investment and growth across the insurtech ecosystem, combining sessions on the benefits of VC vs Corporate VC investment opportunities with real-world case studies offering perspectives on individual companies' successful fundraising journeys.
The event was opened by Insurtech UK CEO Melissa Collett and Benjamin Hindson, UK Tech & Digital Economy Industry Leader at Aon, who welcomed everyone to the venue.

Lucy Rigby KC MP gives her keynote speech
First up on the agenda was a keynote speech from City Minister Lucy Rigby KC MP, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, who spoke supportively of the insurtech sector and steps the Government is taking to do more to help entrepreneurs in the UK.
Identifying the right investment
Next was a panel discussion focused on the benefits of corporate venture capital (CVC) vs venture capital (VC) in the context of identifying the right investment for your insurtech business.
Eloise Morgan, Managing Director of Ventures at Price Forbes, was the host guiding the discussion between our panellists: Simon Pink, UK Head of Emerging Technology at QBE Ventures; Vaib Tandon, Senior Investment Associate at Aviva Ventures; Reggie de Wasseige, VC at Augmentum; and Sokhiba Mukhitdinova, VC and founding member at Insurtech NY.
Insurtech case studies
The event continued with Insurtech UK Co-Chair Louise Birritteri, CEO and founder of Pikl, and David King, co-founder of Artificial & Insurtech UK Council member, discussing their own companies’ investment journeys.
The pair offered attendees the benefit of their real-world experience in an insightful session facilitated by EOS Ventures partner James Tootell.

Pitching at Investment Day
John Warburton, co-founder of Konsileo, pitches to the Investment Day audience
Finally, a total of eight exciting insurtechs presenting a wide range of business lines and business models, ranging from pre-seed to Series B, were given the floor and the opportunity to pitch directly to investors and the wider ecosystem. These were: Agentiv-X, Fincyn, Prompted, Simfuni, IdentifAI, GoJoe, Render and Konsileo.
And lastly...
Then it was on to networking, giving attendees the chance to continue conversations, make new connections, and engage with investors and industry peers in a relaxed, informal setting.
Thank you to everyone who attended this fantastic event. What a great way to kick off Insurtech Week!
